Just about ready

As soon as I can figure out some of the vexing conundrums of blogging with this particular software, I'll begin making regular entries here. For example, I'm going to review a recording of the Beethoven and Britten violin concertos by Janine Jansen. I haven't decided yet whether I will present CD or concert reviews as part of the ongoing blog or put them in their own locations somewhere else. If I choose the latter, I'll still have to figure out how to do it, whether to include graphics and so on. Still, I have to get started in the next week or so, perhaps adjusting the presentation as I go along.

The born-again blog

As you may know, I ran a magazine-style web page for a number of years. It had the same name as this blog. I had to give it up because my helpers came and went and because I made a mistake in the settings of the program I was using. This utterly scrambled the hundreds of files of which my pages were made and, despite many attempts to sort things out, I found myself completely over my head.

So now I'm relaunching on a more modest footing. I'll try to ressurect the best articles and reviews from the old site, provide new reviews now and then, especially of recordings, and fill as best I may the void that Opus Pocus has left. Four years after publication stopped, I still get asked when I'm going to bring it back. So stick with me here and I'll have a blog worth following in the near future.
